If you consider your intelligence level slightly above that of brainless idiot, do yourself a favor and avoid this trash. In the hands of a competent studio, this concept could be great, but the show feels like a group of 12-year-olds have found the keys to a Ferrari and inevitably crashed it into a wall. The show basically says "wow, isn't this CREEPY and SCARY you guys?" rather than letting the stories speak for themselves.

'Phrogging.' views like a parody of a real TV series. Unnecessary dramatizations, melodramatic pauses, rigid interviews, interviewees clearly reading lines. Lifetime have taken a concept that, in anyone else's hands, would be worth investing your time in but unsurprisingly Lifetime have dropped the ball like they always do. This is soulless, exploitative garbage that overlooks everything that makes true crime appealing. Rather than tackling these stories with respect and courtesy, Lifetime hammer you over the head with soundbites and bad re-enactments in a desperate attempt to tell you how scared you should be. It is simply inoffensive, leaving little impression on the listener’s memory except a vague surprise on realising it has come to an end.Phrogging: Hider In My House exemplifies the current climate of true crime. This is, frankly, not a good enough soundtrack to merit a release on its own and definitely not a highlight of Christopher Young’s catalogue. Track 06 (‘At Peace’) is a return to the choir and the same wistful, forgettable strings that have accompanied the journey through this story. Only Track 05 (‘Reversing Colors’) breaks the mould, being of a more traditional horror bent, with sawing strings, thumping drums and blaring horns. The same goes for Track 04 (‘Invisible’). So much so that without the break in the music it would be difficult to tell where one ended and the other began. Tom murders the Dreyers beloved dog Rudolph, when Rudolph attempts to defend his family against the titular hider. For instance, Track 02 (‘A Place Like Home’) and 03 (‘Momentary Bliss’) use almost identical motifs.
